Looking ahead to December 2017

Here are some of the fun events coming up in & around Frankfurt in December 2017!

Adventsmarkt im Freilichtmuseum Hessenpark

Taking place on the 2nd & 3rd December from 10am-7pm is the Adventsmarkt at the Hessenpark.
Its fun for the whole family with a carousel for the children and a Nikolaus who hands out small gifts.

To visit the market adults pay €4, children €1.50 or a family ticket is available for €8

If you want to visit the museum as well as the market there is a special deal for this weekend which means you only pay half the price of a normal museum ticket. Hessenpark is an ideal place for young children to run around, have fun & learn at the same time & we had a great day out at the Hessenpark with D.

Historischer Weihnachtsmarkt at Burg Ronneburg

The Historischer Weihnachtsmarkt takes place at Burg Ronneburg on the weekends of the 2nd/3rd, 9th/10th & the 16th/17th December from 11am-8pm.
There is a nativity play every day at 5pm.

It costs €6 for adults
Children from 5 years cost €5
14+ cost €5.50
There is also a family card for €18

Find Burg Ronneburg at:

Its around a 40 minute drive from Frankfurt
To get there using public transport seems quite tricky but check theirwebsite for details.
There is plenty of car parking.

We went to the Historic Easter Markt this year & as its a special event I would recommend getting there reasonably early to avoid parking at the bottom of the Burg & having to walk all the way up although there is a shuttle bus operating every so often!
We also had to pay €2 for car parking upon arrival.

Nikolaus-Fahrtag

Its Nikolaus-Fahrtag on the 10th December at the Frankfurter Feldbahnmuseum.

Travel with Nikolaus through Rebstock park on steam trains

Its on from 11am-5pm
Adults pay €6, kids 4-14 years pay €3
