We had a salt dough painting play date a few days ago to make some decorations for the tree.
In the morning I made up a batch of salt dough
This is super easy!
Mix together 4 cups flour, 1 cup salt & 1.5 cups of warm water.
Roll out & cut out the shapes you want, then bake them for around 2 hours at 180.
Before baking make sure you poke a hole in the top of each one so you can string them up later.
D is usually very impatient so I had some all ready for the boys to paint as well as some dough so they could make thier own.
The boys painted some of the ready made ones
But as so often happens with kids they decided to get totally messy instead & the salt dough was forgotten!
The next day D spotted the painted ones on the side and asked to finish them off.
We ended up with a platefull of colourful Salt dough decorations.
All thats left to do is glaze and string them once they have full dried.
I did a couple of prints of D’s hands
& turned them into Santa.
We also added some green paint to some of the uncooked dough and we made fingerprint Christmas trees.
